Why is my ex doing this?

My ex texted me today "Hey". Today was a very hard day for me. I cried pretty much the whole day because I was missing him, and how things were. I decided to call him. It was so painful hearing him talk about his new gf. He said "She said she wouldn't mind if she saw me in bed with another girl. She isn't jealous, and I really like that." This upset me because he always accused me of being a jealous girlfriend (and I was, for some reason I had a hard time trusting him because we were long distance). He also said "Every one of my exes has been abusive to me in some way." when HE is the one who broke my heart! He broke up with me and started dating this girl 2 days later. He is always telling me that I shouldn't date anyone for awhile. Why?? He kept telling me that he is different than other guys. He was basically implying that I wouldn't find a guy as good as him, one that treats me as good as he did, and that I made a mistake (I had wanted to brake up with him because of his narcissistic personality, but I couldn't do it because I still loved him)Is he trying to manipulate me? Why would he if he has a gf?
