Is it hard to become pregnant?

My periods are regluar, and I don't really know when I ovulate. I really want to have a baby. My period doesn't start for another 2 weeks. Is it possible to become pregnant if you've had just one day after your period? I know that the whole fertilization thing may take a few days. I know I can't become pregnant the same day that I have . My question is can I become pregnant just one or 3 days after having my period, or should I wait until the middle of my cycle?
