Victim of ault/domestic violence stuck with bills and needs advice. Thx so much.?

Back in May a a friend of mine was charged with domestic violence/ault after he was seen by several witnesses (including 3 third part witnesses who called the police) throwing me to the ground several times and hitting my head to the pavement. It definitely could have been worse but was still pretty gruesome. I guess I lost consciousness after the second time my head hit the pavement. I had several cuts, some of which I still have scars from, and was brought to the e.r. Anyway long story short I had a concussion, my medical bills added up to over $5,000 not to mention pain and suffering. I had to find a new apartment etc. The defendant plead GULITY already and based on the police report etc there is no question of his guilt. The problem is during this entire process I didn't have an address because I was forced to leave my home due to false (which can be proven as well)statements made by a friend of his which were later retracted. But the damage was already done, I had no way to collect the proper paperwork to turn into the victim's services department. He plead guilty and accepted his plea bargain before I was even able to get all of my bills together so now I as the victim am also stuck with all the costs ociated with the ault. I've looked for personal injury lawyers etc but none of them seem to take this kind of case. Someone please help! I have no idea what to do and it's not fair I should be punished more because he can't control his temper So far, his actions have truly ruined my life. Any advice is very appreciated. Thank you.
